Lemar says she and Kobett were drawn to Sony Pictures by the extent of its technical resources and creative atmosphere in the lot. Kobett has over 150 credits as a re-recording mixer and audio editor and is a three-time Emmy Award winner. Her notable list of works includes “Grace and Frankie”, “GLOW” and “Veronica Mars”. Lemar spent her 16-year career at Technicolor (now Formosa Group).

Lemar and Kobett have teamed up for four years with credits including TV series “Riverdale,” “Yellowjackets,” “Roar,” and “American Horror Story.” The two will be stationed on Dub Stage 12. Re-recording mixers Vicki Lemar and Kenneth Kobett were brought in to work for Sony Pictures Post Production Services.
Twelve of the 14 mixing stages are now supported on the Sony Pictures Atmos suite. The revamped Dub Stage 12 is equipped with an Avid S6 dual 48-fader console, a JBL 3-way speaker array, a JBL Cinema subwoofer, a JBL 2-way speaker system and a JBL oversized cinema surround.
The stage supports mixing in Dolby Atmos, 5.1, 7.1, Auromax, DTS-X and IMAX formats. The interior has been renovated with new customer workstations, furniture, lighting and flooring.
The theater has been completely reconnected and its equipment rooms have been combined into one space. The Novak Theater now features a JBL 5742 4-way array speaker system and a Stewart film screen. The renovation work was conducted under the supervision of Kimberly Jimenez, Vice President of Post Production Services, and Lynne Burch, Executive Director, Audio Engineering of Post Production. “We are committed to providing a campus and a creative culture that supports filmmakers in bringing their stories to screen in the way they envision.” “It is our responsibility to ensure that our clients and talent have access to the latest audio facilities,” said Tom McCarthy, Executive Vice President of Post Production Facilities. Sony Pictures also upgraded the Dub Stage 12, adding Atmos features, continuing its multi-year effort to expand and modernize its audio facilities. It will include the addition of Dolby Atmos capability. The Anthony Quinn Theater is also slated to be upgraded. William Holden’s studio theater will get a similar makeover later this year.
As part of the renovation, the electrical and interior infrastructure were also upgraded.

The theater is now equipped with a new set of speakers and a movie screen. The renovation of the 229-seat Kim Novak Theatre was recently completed.
